LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is the new LEGO Batman game from TT Games and WB Games, released May 22, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam & Epic), with a Nintendo Switch 2 version later in 2026. It reimagines Batman's early career across an open-world Gotham, mixing story missions with a city packed with collectibles.
This is the complete LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight guide hub — find how many chapters the game has and the full chapter list, how long it takes to beat, every playable character and how to unlock them, the full rogues' gallery, and where the Red Bricks and Minikits are for 100% completion. Use the cards above to jump straight to what you need.
Everything here is built around the new game's structure: an interactive chapter and completion tracker, the confirmed character unlocks, and honest community estimates wherever exact figures are still settling. Bookmark this LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight guide — it is updated as more of the game is confirmed.
Before You Start
A few things worth knowing before you dive into LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight — small stuff that saves time on the road to 100% completion.
Co-op is couch-only
Grab a second controller for 2-player local split-screen with drop-in/drop-out at any time — there is no online multiplayer.
Red Bricks are cosmetic
In this game Red Bricks recolour your suits and vehicles rather than enabling cheats, so chase them for 100% completion, not power.
Replay missions in Free Play
You won't grab every collectible on the first pass — return to any chapter in Free Play once you've unlocked the right characters and gadgets.
There are no cheat codes
TT Games dropped the classic code-entry system; unlocks come from playing and from the Bat-Mite shop (spend studs), not passwords.
Short story, long 100%
The main story runs about 13–15 hours, but open-world Gotham pushes 100% completion toward ~50 hours — pace the collectibles.
Characters gate collectibles
Heroes unlock as you progress (Catwoman in Chapter 2, Robin in Chapter 3 and so on); some collectibles need a specific character's gadget, so revisit areas later.
Time to Complete
How long LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight takes depends on your play style — from a focused run through the 21–22 story missions to full 100% completion of every chapter and the Prologue. Estimates vary between sources; some clock the main story as low as 10–12 hours.
Community estimates — story missions are short, but Gotham's open world is packed with collectibles.
Is It Co-op?
Yes — LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has two-player local co-op. A second player can drop in or out at any time: connect a second controller and press Start (look for the drop-in prompt at the top-right of the pause screen). Like previous TT Games LEGO titles, it is couch co-op only — there is no online multiplayer.
Every Villain & Boss
Legacy of the Dark Knight pits Batman against a roster of classic Gotham villains — each chapter introduces new antagonists who tie directly into that chapter's missions and story beats.

Collectibles & Red Bricks
Chasing 100% in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight means hunting every collectible across all 6 chapters, the Prologue and open-world Gotham — the difference between a ~13–15h main story and a ~50h completion run.
There are 23 Red Bricks (14 hidden in story missions, 9 bought in the Bat-Mite store). In this game they are purely cosmetic — they recolour your suits and vehicles rather than enabling cheats. Gotham hides several more collectible types alongside them:
- Red Bricks
- Minikits
- WayneTech Caches
- Suits
- Vehicles
- Cluemaster Puzzles
- Bat-Symbols
- Escaped Zoo Animals
Exact per-chapter counts for some collectible types are still being confirmed across community guides — our chapter-by-chapter Minikit and Red Brick location guides are on the way.
The Platinum Run
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has 52 trophies on PS5, topped by a single Platinum — “I am Batman” — with matching achievements on Xbox and Steam. None are missable, so you can mop everything up after the story; the Platinum lands at roughly ~20 hours.
With no missable trophies, the Platinum is a completionist's checklist rather than a precision run — tick off your chapters and collectibles in the tracker above and the achievements follow.
